This Isn’t a Handout. It’s a Stand.

Behind every badge is a man carrying weight most people will never understand.
Pressure. Scrutiny. Expectations. Silence.

Too often, law enforcement leaders grind forward without pause—until stress turns into burnout, relationships fracture, or the cost becomes far heavier than it ever should have been. We’ve seen it. We’ve lived it. And we’re done pretending it’s just “part of the job.”

Team AB is striving to bring people together through sport, service, and real community impact. Founded by Austin Benson, a professional athlete and police officer, alongside his former college teammate Cory Schuler, a Texas police officer, Team AB is rooted in a shared belief that leadership doesn’t stop at the field—or the badge.

As athletes and first responders, we’ve lived the pressure that comes with being expected to perform, protect, and provide—often without pause and without complaint. We’ve seen firsthand how strong communities are built: through service, opportunity, and men and women willing to step up for others, even when it costs them personally. Team AB exists to turn that belief into action.

But this mission runs deeper.

Behind the uniform, law enforcement leaders carry relentless stress and scrutiny. Left unchecked, that weight can lead to unhealthy coping, broken relationships, career burnout, and—too often—suicide. The job demands strength, but rarely gives space to reset.

Team AB’s desires to walk alongside our brothers and sisters in blue—not as a replacement for agency resources, but as a place of cover. A place focused on rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation, with the goal of stepping in early and helping prevent crisis before it ever takes hold.

We use the influence of sports to inspire, unite, and create change—supporting charitable causes, nonprofit partners, and initiatives that strengthen communities. Our primary focus is honoring and supporting first responders, while also investing in youth development, education, health, and wellness.

Whether through retreats, events, or initiatives like our raffle, everything we do is about one thing: taking care of the people who spend their lives taking care of everyone else.

  • Rest and mental reset

  • Brotherhood and peer connection

  • Physical recovery and recreation

  • Real conversations without judgment

No lectures. No fluff. Just a few days away from the noise—spent with men who get it.

These retreats are one of the ways Team AB invests directly into leaders who spend their careers pouring into others. This is how we say thank you—not with words, but with action.
